Allah Ta'ala says: "Keep your prayers regular. Especially the middle prayer. And stand humbly before Allah.” (Surat al-Baqarah, verse 238)

Under the command of Imran ben Hussain (RA), he said: "I had hemorrhoids. In this context, I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) about prayer. He said, you must pray on your feet, if you cannot stand, sit down. If you can't have a seat, go to bed and pray. " (Sahih Bukhari: 1066)

A person who is incapable of rising for the mandatory prayer will perform the prayer while sitting, he does not have to repeat the prayer. Its reward will not be less than the reward of standing prayer. Because that person is illness. It is recorded in Sahih Bukhari that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a person is sick or on a journey, then it will be written for the deeds he used to do when he was healthy."

"It is permissible for a person who has suffered a disease because of which he cannot stand, to pray in sit, and for a person who has suffered from a disease by reason of which he is unable to sit, he is permitted to pray lying down."

It is allowed for a person who is incapable of getting up to sit on a chair while standing, He will perform Ruku-Sijda in the correct structure. If someone capable of standing, but bowing is difficult, then he will pray standing up, and then sit on a chair during ruku-sajdaka. And tilt the head more than tilt while prostrating.

Ibn Qudama al-Maqdisi said:

A person who is capable of standing, who is incapable of prostrating himself or herself, will not be excused from standing. That person will pray standing. Will bow in gesture. Then sit down and prostrate in the gesture.

The words of Allah Ta'ala: "And remain humble in front of Allah". Moreover, this is Ruqan (essential structure) for a person who is capable of standing. It must therefore be carried out as a recital.

Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Baz (RA) said:

A person who prays sitting on the floor or sitting on a chair is bound to do his Sajdah inferior to Ruku. The Sunnah is that he should put his hands on his knees whilst prostrating himself. And in the state of prostration, it is obligatory to keep both hands on the ground if possible. If you can't get your hands on your knees.

There is no objection to someone who, being incapable of doing so, praying in a chair. The evidence is the words of Allah Ta'ala: "Fear Allah as much as you can". And the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: "When I command you, obey it to the best of your ability." [Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim]

Chairs lined up

Scholars have mentioned that the condition for a person who prays sitting is that his hips should be parallel to the qatar, not ahead or behind the qatar.

The requirement that the Iqtida be pure (i.e. the Iqtida of the Muqtadi behind the Imam) is: The Muqtadi must not be ahead of the Imam in position.

In the case of being in front or not, the position is: the ankle of the person standing, and it is the back of the foot, not the heel. There is nothing wrong with parallel ankles, but the toes of the mukhtadi are long and go forward. And in the case of sitting, the position is the hip. And in the case of the sleeping person, his neighbor.

So, if a worshipper is sitting in a chair from the beginning to the end of the prayer, they should do their sitting position parallel to the row.

If he prays standing, but sits in a bow and prostration, the position will be standing. This means that the person will stand parallel to the queue. Based on this opinion, then the chair will be behind the queue. But it should be in such a place that the worshipers behind do not suffer.
