10 Lakh Will be Able to Perform Hajj This Year

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced this in a tweet. It states that pilgrims must be under the age of 65 and fully vaccinated. A negative PCR test confirmation will be required within 72 hours of travel to Saudi Arabia. The increased number of pilgrims will be distributed among the countries according to the quota with regard to the health situation.


The ministry said that every pilgrim must follow hygiene rules. All precautions for their health and safety during Hajj must be observed.


Hajj is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. It is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. In 2019, 25,000 pilgrims performed the Hajj.


However, after the outbreak of the corona epidemic in 2020, Saudi Arabia allowed thousands of pilgrims to perform the Hajj.


The following year, 70,000 pilgrims were selected for the Hajj lottery from among those who received the full dose of vaccine.


Last year, a limited number of pilgrims could also perform Hajj. According to official figures, 56,745 people performed Hajj last year. In the years leading up to the epidemic, attendance would exceed two million.


The ministry said Saudi Arabia is interested in allowing as many pilgrims as possible to perform Hajj and visit the Nawabi Mosque. Protecting their health and safety is also the most important responsibility of the government.

 

How Many People can go for Hajj from any Country?

 

In early April, Saudi Arabia announced that a million people would be able to perform the Hajj this year. This year, the country's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set a quota on how many people from which country can participate in the Hajj. This was reported by the Saudi Gazette with reference to several sources.


     According to the source, this year as always, most people from Indonesia will get the opportunity to perform Hajj. This time, 100,000 51 people will get the opportunity to perform Hajj from Indonesia. In second place is Pakistan. 81,132 pilgrims will get the opportunity to perform Hajj from Pakistan. India, which is in the third position, will get the opportunity to perform Hajj for 79,237 people this time. Meanwhile, 57 thousand 585 people will get the opportunity of Hajj from Bangladesh, which is in the fourth position.


This time, the least number of people from the African country of Angola will get the opportunity to perform the Hajj. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has allowed only 23 pilgrims out of the country. Among the Arab countries, this time 35,375 Egyptians will have the opportunity to perform the Hajj. Among African countries, 43,008 people from Nigeria will be able to perform Hajj this time. In addition, 38,481 people from Iran and 37,770 people from Turkey will get the opportunity to perform Hajj.


Saudi Arabia will provide Hajj to 9,504 pilgrims from the United States, 11,318 pilgrims from Russia, 9,190 pilgrims from China and 91 pilgrims from Ukraine.


The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had earlier announced that one million people would be able to perform Hajj this year. Of this, 85 percent or 850 thousand people from different countries will be able to participate in Hajj. In addition, 1.5 million people from Saudi Arabia will be given the opportunity to perform Hajj.
